My Journey to the Mrs. Texas Pageant as "Mrs Grapevine"
 Somewhere between running a children's party business, 8 years of marriage and 2 little girls, I lost my "it" factor.
Most mommies can probably relate! It is easy to forget about YOU!
One day you wake up to 30 extra pounds, frizzy gray stray hairs on your sad over processed hair, neglected skin that exibits zits AND wrinkles?...I really could go on!
I turned 34 in September and that's when I really saw myself in the mirror...the hall mirror to be exact. I stopped in my tracks, with a mop in hand(really!), and REALLY took a hard look at the woman staring back at me.
I just didn't recognize her. It was as if i was looking in to a fun house mirror.
That's the exact moment I decided to make a change. A real change with a serious goal.
I made my goal.
A goal that would be hard to meet but could be done.A goal that is way out of my comfort zone. A goal to be on stage in front of hundreds of people in a swimsuit... being judged!
A moment of insanity? Too late now.
The goal has been planted.
So it's time to go public with this goal to make it even more real. So, here it is:
I am going to represent Grapevine Tx in the Mrs. Texas pageant in Corsicana Jan 21st, 2012!!! Seriously...I am! I really am!! (Such the Underdog!!ha) From that moment, I started the transition.
To this date, I have lost 19 pounds. I have 13 to go. Let me tell you, if you know you will be half naked in public, food just doesn't look as good anymore.
But, I haven't started on the hair and skin issues yet.
That's to be dealt with.
So, since I have never been in a pageant, or been to one, I had no idea the money involved and the work to be done. For starters, I need a hair surgeon, a mega pageant dress, a black and white swimsuit (yep), nude or clear heels, hotel money, interview outfit
...I need sponsors and donations! I need your help!
How to sponsor you ask?
1.) Donate a service! Hair, nails, make up, teeth whitening, skin care, you name it! Email me at hks0002@aol.comif you fall in to this catagory and can help me look my best. I will make sure you are aknowledged for your kindness and service. 2.)Money Donations! I figured I will need about $2000 total to help me pay for my gown, program ads, pageant fees, hotel stay and so on. Anything would be helpful and be much appreciated.

Everyday I transform little girls in to Princesses at work and now, I get to be the one transforming! I love the challenge and I can't wait to share the experience!
I am excited to represent Grapevine ( I have already received my "Mrs. Grapevine" sash) and I hope I make them proud.
